 DAS INVESTMENT MAGAZIN - DAS ORIGINAL - THE INVESTMENT MAGAZINE - THE ORIGINAL - Die italienische Großbank UniCredit will trotz ihrer Finanzsorgen die Münchener Tochter HypoVereinsbank (HVB) weder ganz noch in Teilen verkaufen.
Anderslautende Gerüchte seien falsch, sagte UniCredit-Chef Federico Ghizzoni der "WirtschaftsWoche". Wegen der niedrigen Refinanzierungskosten, der guten Kapitalausstattung und des Wachstums in Deutschland sei die HVB für UniCredit "noch wichtiger als bisher", sagte Ghizzoni. Zusammen mit der Bank Austria ist die HVB momentan die finanzielle Stütze der UniCredit, die im Heimatmarkt Italien schwächelt.
Auch am Namen "HypoVereinsbank" für das Filialgeschäft werde festgehalten, die Pläne für eine Umbenennung in "UniCredit" seien gestoppt worden. "In Deutschland haben die Kunden eine starke Beziehung zur HVB. Deshalb behalten wir die Marke bei", erläuterte Ghizzoni.
UniCredit hatte nach immensen Verlusten zuletzt mühsam 7,5 Milliarden Euro am Kapitalmarkt aufgenommen, um die strengeren Eigenkapitalregeln für die Branche erfüllen zu können. Es sei noch nicht klar, ob sich die Bank beim nächsten Drei-Jahres-Leihgeschäft der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) beteiligen werde, sagte Ghizzoni. "Wir verspüren keinen Druck, wir brauchen zurzeit keine weiteren Finanzmittel."
Sollte sich die Bank doch Geld bei der EZB besorgen, wolle sie es für das Kreditgeschäft und nicht für den Kauf italienischer Staatsanleihen nutzen. "Ende 2010 hatten wir 40 Milliarden Euro italienische Staatsanleihen in den Büchern. Das Niveau haben wir gehalten, und wir planen keine wesentlichen Änderungen an diesem Bestand."
Im Kampf gegen eine drohende Kreditklemme hatte die EZB im Dezember Europas Banken mit einer beispiellosen Geldspritze von fast einer halben Billion Euro flüssig gehalten. Beim ersten Drei-Jahres-Leihgeschäft hatten mehr als 520 Geldinstitute zugegriffen. Einige Beobachter erwarten, dass sich die Banken beim zweiten Geschäft dieser Art Ende Februar sogar eine Billion Euro leihen könnten.
Die Sorgen vor einer Kreditklemme in Südeuropa habe es nicht ohne Grund gegeben, sagte der UniCredit-Chef. Aktuell sehe er aber keine Kreditklemme. UniCredit werde die Kreditvergabe nicht pauschal reduzieren, bei der Kreditvergabe jedoch sehr vorsichtig sein und die Preise an die gestiegenen Liquiditätskosten anpassen.

A high net worth individual (HNWI) is a person with a high net worth. In the private banking business, these individuals typically are defined as having investable assets (financial assets not including primary residence) in excess of US$1 million.[1][2] As explained below, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has promulgated a different definition of "high net worth individual" for regulatory purposes.
The Merrill Lynch - Capgemini World’s Wealth Report 2009 defines HNWIs as those who hold at least US$1 million in financial assets and Ultra-HNWIs as those who hold at least US$30 million in financial assets, with both excluding collectibles, consumables, consumer durables and primary residences. The report states that in 2008 there were 8.6 million HNWIs worldwide, a decline of 14.9% from 2007. The total HNWI wealth worldwide totaled US$32.8 trillion, a 19.5% decrease from 2007. The Ultra-HNWIs experienced the greater loss, losing 24.6% in population size and 23.9% in accumulated wealth. The report revised its 2007 projections that HNWI financial wealth would reach US$59.1 trillion by 2012 and revised this downward to a 2013 HNWI wealth valued at $48.5 trillion advancing at an annual rate of 8.1%.
